THE PITCH Jon Corrippo created this unit. He believed it was vital to put cameras in the hands of students as soon as possible. Students learn by doing and the soon they do the sooner they learn. This unit opens my curriculum. It includes a series of lectures on shot type & composition interlaced with hands-on camera practice shooting a variety of shot types rotating roles between cameraman, grip and actor. Dailies are reviewed on the class TV to clarify and refine skill set to master the basic techniques of a videocamera (Intro Class) or DSLR (Advanced Class). STUDENT FRIENDLY STANDARDS - CTE 9.0 Leadership & Teamwork - Students learn leadership skills and work in dynamic groups to make proper production decisions and resolve team conflicts (leadership styles, value of teamwork, school citizenship, community engagement, organization skills, conflict resolution, consensus building).

SCENARIO You've been asked by ASB to put together a collage of school life activities at Golden West. The President of ASB stresses the importance of using a variety of shots to make the collage more interesting. It's likely that this collage will be used at an upcoming school-wide assembly.
