![]() THE PITCH This project assumes students are comfortable with shot composition, match-action, and boom mic use. The Eavesdrop Project adds the complex element of a conversation. This project introduces the generative idea of translating a script into a storyboard where students imagine how the narrative is best visualized through purposely selected shot types. This project also introduces the importance of lighting and adds the reflector light as a means of learning how to shape light. The largest learning leap for students is the complex workflow of a Hollywood-style shoot. Teaching students the thinking and decision making process that embodies this type of shoot requires an apprentice model. Students must see the workflow in action as both observers and participants. All of these ideas come together in the Eavesdrop Project. STUDENT FRIENDLY STANDARDS
SCENARIO A Hollywood Producer has invited the class to produce a "short" from the script Eavesdrop. The entire class will be involved in the production work under the direction of the instructor who will direct. The producer and director will select the main crew then select the cast through an official casting call process. The support crew and extras will then be selected. Each student will complete the post-production work and publish their version of Eavesdrop for the producer to select. UNIT RESOURCES
